Based in New York, Naoya is a Managing Director at DCS Advisory, where he is responsible for the firm’s Japan Asia Focus Group.
Prior to DCS Advisory, he was Head of Sagent Advisors’ Japan/Asia Focus Group, having joined the firm in 2009. Before this, Naoya was a Senior Vice President and a Group Head of the Strategic Advisory Department 4 at Daiwa Securities SMBC in Tokyo where he focused on cross-border M&A advisory business between Japan and the U.S., Europe and Asia. From 2000 to 2005, he worked as a Director at Daiwa Securities SMBC Europe in London, where he was the Head of the London team with responsibility for Japan-Europe M&A advisory.
He began his career at Sumitomo Bank (now Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation) in 1989, where he spent 10 years at Sumitomo Bank in the investment banking, corporate research and legal areas.
Naoya is a graduate of the Faculty of Law at the University of Tokyo and received a Master of Comparative Law at the University of Michigan Law School.
